What Is DYSPORT?
DYSPORT is an injectable wrinkle treatment just like BOTOX® Cosmetic that is synthesized in the lab and injected into the skin. It acts to temporarily relax muscles and works in the same way. DYSPORT is simply made by a different manufacturer.
The wrinkles between the eyebrows, the wrinkles on the forehead, and the wrinkles around the eyes are caused by contraction of the underlying muscles. When the muscle contracts, it wrinkles the overlying skin. DYSPORT prevents the muscle from contracting and thus minimizes the appearance of wrinkles. DYSPORT can be used for crow's feet, forehead lines and "angry" lines between the eyebrows.
DYSPORT is effective for almost everyone, takes just a few seconds to administer and is virtually painless. The effects of DYSPORT should be seen about 4-6 days after treatment, and each treatment lasts for about 12-14 weeks.
How Is DYSPORT Different from BOTOX?
